Tenuta San Guido

The Incisa Della Rocchetta family is famous in Italian history, and today's family descendants still inherit the title of Marquis.

Before Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, no one thought about brewing Bordeaux-style wines on Italian soil, not to mention unknown places like Borgley. Mario found that the soils of Tuscany and Bordeaux Graf are rich in wine, very similar. It was because of this discovery that Mario had the idea of planting Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in Tenuta San Guido.

Sassicala means small stones in Italian, while Tenuta San Guido is made of stone, which Mario uses as the name of the wine. In the 1950s, Sassicala was born, but in the early days it was only consumed within the family or between friends and family. Over time, Mario found that the wine's ability to age should not be underestimated. With the help of the famous Italian winemaker Jakomo Tagis, Sassicala began selling in 1968, opening a brilliant road to success.

In 1978, the UK's most authoritative (Decanter) magazine blindly tasted the world's Cabernet Sauvignon in London. These wines come from 11 countries, including some of France's top wines. After the vote of the expert judges, Sasikara stood out in 1972 and was selected as the best wine, making Sassikara famous in the world.

Today, Nicole, the son of Marquis of Mario, is responsible for the wine cellar. Under his leadership, Tenuta San Guido has made great progress. Based on authentic Sassicala wines, the winery adds two outstanding wines - the
